Hello everyone. I'm Frosts, the creator of Frosts Games.
What started as a small idea slowly became something I spent a a huge amount of my free time building. Late nights fixing things, adding games, maintaining the server, and trying to make a place where students and friends could relax and have fun together.
The games here were always simple and non-violent. The whole point was just to give people a break and let them bond with each other through something fun and harmless.
Unfortunately, school networks have become increasingly restrictive toward websites like this. Even small projects built around harmless entertainment often end up blocked. In many ways it starts to feel like a form of digital censorship.
For many students, school devices are the only computers they have access to. When harmless websites are blocked, it limits what those students can explore on the internet at home, compared to students who own personal laptops or use unrestricted networks.
Many students resort to using things like about:blank embeds simply to access websites that are otherwise blocked. These methods often exist because restrictions leave students with few alternatives.
Projects like this were never meant to break rules — just to create a small space online where students could relax, laugh, and enjoy something simple together.
Because of the attention the site has received and the potential trouble it could cause, I’ve decided the safest decision is to take the site down.
The Minecraft server Frosts SMP will also be shutting down.
It's difficult to close something that I poured so much time into. What began as a simple project turned into something I genuinely cared about. I can't tell just how big the smile was on my face when I found out the daily active users was well over 5,000!. It made me so happy to know I was providing people with a place to make memories and have fun.
Still, I'm grateful for everyone who visited the site, played the games, or spent time on the server.
Thank you to everyone who was part of it.
